Queen Mary Suite Room & Breakfast with a View
The bustling city of Liverpool is home to beautiful architecture, a vibrant music scene, and rich history, making it a perfect destination for a city getaway. And with plenty of fun budget-friendly attractions in Liverpool. I think this city is one of the best places to visit in the UK.
From discovering something new about the city in its many museums, shopping among the hustle and bustle in Liverpool One, or having a selfie with The Beatles statues, there's truly something for everyone. Especially if you’re looking for vegan food places in Liverpool, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
On one of my trips to the buzzing city, I had the privilege of staying at the 4-star Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel in Room 1201 – a fantastic Queen Mary 2 Suite for two nights. Part of the luxury Accor hotel group, the hotel is conveniently located opposite the Royal Liver Building on the infamous Pier Head in the heart of the city. And is only a stone's throw away from the beautiful Town Hall, attractions on the dock, and the shopping complex.
The 12-story hotel’s exterior resembles the prow of a ship to reflect Liverpool's maritime history and was built in the ’70s. The interior has been modernised many times since. So, you’ll find a fully stocked bar and restaurant on-site with a lovely view of Liverpool.

After checking into the hotel and being greeted with friendly service, we made our way up the lift to room 1201 the Queen Mary Suite to begin our stay. Upon entering the room, what immediately caught my attention was the spacious living area within the suite.
We soon put down our bags and sat upon the two comfy sofas in the room to have a moment of relaxation from all the walking and turned on the flat-screen TV.
In the open plan living space, we found a coffee maker, complete with complimentary pods and a kettle – this came in handy the next morning, allowing us to make ourselves a hot drink without having to leave the comfort of the suite when I’m in need of coffee first thing.
The suite would be perfect if you're visiting Liverpool for business since it features a spacious work desk with a lamp to allow you to complete work any time of day. Or if you’re visiting for leisure with friends and family, as it also has a dining table if you fancy staying in the comfort of your suite for dinner on an evening.

After an early train ride departing from Birmingham. I couldn't wait to get a good night's sleep, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. The large and wide windows featured in the living room followed on into the bedroom looking out onto Liverpool's infamous skyline. Where we enjoyed a view of the iconic Radio City tower at sunrise.
The spacious room with a city view was made even more perfect once checking out the bed, which I feel was much bigger than a king-size since my arm and my partner’s arm could only just about reach each other when lying near the edge. It was certainly one of the biggest and cosiest beds I’ve had the privilege of being in and fitted with crisp white sheets and comfy pillows, I can safely say I didn't want to wake up.
The spacious bedroom comes with a handy wardrobe space large enough to hold a good collection of clothes, making it perfect for a short city break or a longer holiday in the city.
Besides the incredible bed, the city view was my favourite part of the suite's bedroom. It was lovely as the sun began to rise and the first glimpses of daylight shone through the window. It has all the perks of a central hotel you’d want when booking a city centre hotel in Liverpool.
The luxurious en-suite bathroom

A spacious suite isn’t complete without an en-suite. The large bathroom was clean and fresh and came with complimentary toiletries. Alongside the rainfall showerhead which made me feel truly refreshed and energised in the morning.
The bathroom also comes with a generously sized bathtub in case you fancy some time to destress on your visit to the bustling city. I don’t usually have baths especially while staying in hotels. But on this occasion, I made sure I made use of a large bath with plenty of bubbles on my first night in Liverpool. While my partner enjoyed putting his feet up in the suite’s living room while watching TV and awaiting our food delivery to make full use of the dining table.
With two mirrors and two sinks, the bathroom caters for pampering two at a time, making this suite perfect for couples and friends getting ready together for a night out in the city.

The next morning, we popped downstairs for breakfast and enjoyed dining with a view of the infamous Royal Liver Building. We visited the hotel during summer 2020 so we had a delicious vegan breakfast of tofu slices topped with vegan cheese, vegetarian sausages, mushrooms, hash browns, and baked beans delivered to us at our table.
Quick grab a go juices, tea, coffee, snacks, and fruit were available to get yourself. But I imagine it has changed since restrictions have been uplifted so there will be more continental buffet food options available now and to fetch as an when you want.
I’ve stayed at lots of Mercure Hotels over the years and have always been pleased with the breakfast, helping to set me up for a day of sightseeing in the city.
To conclude
My two-night stay at Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower hotel was partially gifted by Buyagift, I just paid extra to upgrade to a suite. An experience website I’m always looking at for great deals on hotels and presents for friends and family.
